Our basic Drain Fly Kit is designed for effective treatment of drain flies that can occur when there is organic matter built up in your sink drains or garbage disposals.  This kit includes:  EcoVia Fly Killer 32 fl oz, Hot Spot+ 19 oz, and 12 Catchmaster 100i insect monitors.

 

EcoVia Fly Killer, a Research-Based Botanical Insecticide, is designed for treating small and large filth flies, including fruit flies, phorid flies, drain flies, house flies, lesser house flies and blow flies at the source. EcoVia Fly Killer uses naturally-occurring plant oils to kill fly eggs and larvae, kill and repel adult flies and kill odor-causing bacteria. In addition, the formula penetrates bio films and loosens grease and organic debris, assisting with clean up. The thickened formula coats the side of drains when applied directly.

 

Catchmaster 100i Insect Monitors use a food grade molasses that is pre-applied to the boards to attract insects. Equipped with an adhesive backing, you can place the Catchmaster 100i Insect Monitors anywhere and in any position, so you can make sure that your monitors are where insects are likely to pass. Each board consists of three monitors that can be torn off using the perforated lines.

 

InVade Hot Spot+Plus is a powerful, 4-way action foam. Naturally based odor trapping technology begins neutralizing odors immediately. Fast-acting enzymes and premium microbes digest organic build-up and eliminate odors at the source. Natural citrus oil provides extra cleaning power and a fresh scent.

How to use this kit:

It is important to determine which drains the flies are originating from. The best time to do this is overnight when the drain is not in use.  Using the Catchmaster 100i insect monitors (3 monitors per sheet), remove the protective cover from one insect monitor and shape it into a low, tent-like structure over the suspected drain.  It should not be pressed flat.  If you have more than one drain in a sink, or a drain and a garbage disposal, it is best to place a monitor over each to determine which drain the flies are originating from.  If both drains are affected, you will need to order an additional bottle of EcoVia Fly Killer 32 fl oz bottle, as each bottle only treats 1 drain for one week. In the morning, check the monitors for activity.  That evening, when the drain isn't in use, treat the affected drains or disposal with 2 fl oz of EcoVia Fly Killer.  It is ready-to-use so just pour it down the sides of the drain.  For disposals, pour in 2 fl oz and run the disposal without water for a few seconds to spread around.   You can reuse the monitors nightly, but should mark off old activity with a marker to differentiate from earlier activity.  Drains should be treated nightly, overnight until no sign of activity or for about a week.  

Hot Spot+Plus Bio-Sanitation Foam is an excellent preventative against organic matter build up that can cause drains to smell and attract flies.  Once your drains have been treated for a week using the EcoVia Fly Killer and activity has ceased, use Hot Spot+ Plus to maintain buildup free drains or disposals.  Apply directly to drains and disposals when not in use, overnight is best.  Use once a month or whenever you notice odors have returned.
