Description

209 Systemic Pest Control approaches the problem of insect pest control by working within the plant itself. This unique organic formula contains rosmarinic acid, a derivative of the rosemary plant, that the plant will uptake and spread throughout its vascular system.

The presence of rosmarinic acid in the plant cells forms a barrier that insects find distasteful. Once a feeding insect comes in contact with the rosmarinic acid, they retreat and look for a more suitable food source. Contact with rosmarinic acid can be fatal depending on the size of the pest affected and that pest's maturity.

Key Features:

  • Controls: spider mites, broad mites, russet mites, root aphids, gnat larvae, fungus gnats, white flies, cabbage maggots, and most boring insects.
  • Safe up to day of harvest when used as directed
  • Can be used for organic production
  • Safe around children & pets when used as directed
  • Will protect all parts of the plants from a medley of insect attacks
  • Join Sierra Natural Science in their mission to use less plastic! Refill pouches available for existing bottles.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Can the 209 be used on Orchids, and if so can it be sprayed on the flower spikes without damaging them?

We reached out to the manufacturer of this product to find an accurate answer. This is what they instructed:

Watering in 209 will help.  Spraying has been known to work as well, but we always recommend testing a small area/spot.  If no damage, which is what we'd expect, then try a larger area.  Repeat.

Thank you for using our products."

If you still have questions, please reach out to us through the online chat feature or through our form on our contact page.

209 Systemic Pest Control

I have been using this product for over 2 years now, and it's something I always have on hand now. I don't want to use traditional pesticides on my plants because I don't want to harm pollinators, my dogs, my neighbors dogs and wildlife. I take my tropical plants outside every summer, and I have had some pest issues. I have had spider mites, mealy bugs, aphids, and other pests into my house when I have brought my plants in. I have quite a few plants, and I didn't want to lose them to pests, and I didn't want traditional pesticides because they can be extremely toxic. A friend told me to try this product, and I was really pleased with the results. It worked incredibly fast, and it's really effective. I use this every time I water as a preventative. I haven't seen a fungus gnat in years either.
I lost power, and I needed to reorder this, so I called. Fernando called me back within minutes, and we talked a bit about the entire line of products. I use many of their products now, especially my roses. Fernando was extremely helpful, and he sent me an assortment of other products to try for free. I can't wait to use the Systemica on my lawn, as well as the 244C on my roses to prevent diseases on my roses. I have my Gramp's roses, and they are 100+ years old, and I am looking forward to next spring now that I have some really safe products. I have a butterfly way station, and I don't want to make that toxic. It attracts many varieties of butterflies, and I really enjoy them in my gardens.
I can't recommend these products enough. I have told my friends, family, and shared my experience with this line of products on the online gardening communities I belong to. In the past, I have lost plants to insect infestations or disease, but, since I started using these products, my plants are thriving. I can't believe the superior customer service, and the product knowledge that Fernando shared with me. These are the best, safe, effective I have ever had experience with. I can't recommend them enough, whether you use them outdoors or on your indoor plants. Customer service is excellent, and this company is aligned with the same philosophy as mine. I know that they are safe for my pets, the wildlife, humans, and the pollinators. They are, however, lethal to spider mites, aphids, mealy bugs, scale, thrips, and any other destructive pest my plants may have been exposed to. I always have these products on hand. I plan on using them in the future. My plants are thriving, and they help me keep my plants healthy, even indoors.

Works

I have used 209 for years. It has helped control aphids and whiteflies. You have to be consistent at the beginning of the season. I like that it’s safe around children, pets and outdoor animals.
